Here is a compilation of some of my multimedia work, including clips from my broadcast internship at Channel 13 in Indianapolis, a story from my time with American Student Radio, and a series of "listacles" that I created during my time at GlobalPost.
Diary of a detour: Reporter drives I-65 detour route
In this link, you can see a social media story I did for the Journal & Courier. A bridge closure shut down the interstate near Lafayette, and the detour took nearly four hours to drive on the day I drove it. I used short videos and twitter to document my experience, and it did very well on social media.

Here is a video package on the search for Lauren Spierer, missing IU student, in the immediate aftermath of her disappearance and how it affected new students preparing for college. I reported & edited this story during my time at Channel 13 in Indianapolis during Summer 2011.

This is an American Student Radio piece about a college student who dropped out of IU to pursue his dream of becoming a music producer and is on his way to succeeding. All of the music in the piece was produced by Billy. I reported and edited this story during Spring 2011.
Gun safety crucial to protecting toddlers
Here is a video package on a spike in gun-related accidents among toddlers as a result of lax gun safety by adults. I also reported & edited this story during my time at Channel 13 WTHR in Indianapolis.
Some listacles
The following are listacles I created for the web while at GlobalPost. Listacles are series of pictures with a small amount of text, used as a tool for breaking down big issues into visually interesting formats for readers.
Think you are a political animal? Think again.
Would animals make better politicians that actual people?
Two men have put forward “Morris the Cat” as a candidate for mayor in the state capital Xalapa. Morris is a real cat with a real political platform: he promises to “sleep and do nothing” if elected, which, as he points out, is what all politicians do anyway.

6 places hotter than London right now
An unusual heat wave, the likes of which haven’t been felt since 2006, has Londoners all hot and bothered. Temperatures rose above 80 degrees fahrenheit for the fifth consecutive day today, prompting the Met Office to raise its warning to a “level-three” heatwave. While 80s might not seem too bad, the heat has coincided with an unprecedented 15-day period without rain.
But seriously London, it could be worse.

No Man's Land: 3 territories that are still unclaimed
When it comes to dividing up the planet, politicians have pretty much thought of everything. Leaders around the world have dutifully divvied up continental shelves, found and claimed islands via satellite and established laws for future reference on who gets what --including the moon. But there are a few pieces of Earth that still need an owner, and they are up for grabs.
